From what I am reading the 98% recovery that G2L (50% CNQ) are getting with 98% recovery from cDLE rather than DLE is unique. You need to be aware that recovery is a parameter that is in effect a "free kick" in that you get more product from the same amount of feedstock for almost nothing in terms of cost of production. I do not know how the processes compare in terms of resin utilization (it could be that the resins are more expensive - G2L uses a third party resin supplier and/or the resin could have a shorter life - I don't know) but assuming these factors are not "down sides" then it would appear the G2L has an "edge" over competitors; it's just that they are not as well known. Another advantage that G2L (and therfroe CNQ) has is that Robert Freidland has "deep pockets" and as such we could have a market advantage over better know competitors.

I found a comparison of DLE projects as below:

I am assuming that E3 Metals has either now been replaced by G2L and/or that G2L is using 3 resins (G2L say that they are using third party resins). It would appear to me that CNQ has the rights to the "counter current" process and the know how on how to build Ion Exchange plants. I also got an interesting reference to Ion Exchange issues which may be of interest:

In regard to Oil field brines there appears to be massive potential (through the Oil companies as customers) - Robert Freidman should have the contacts and credibility required.
