I'm not a legal eagle but I can only assume that unless written or recorded guarantees were given throughout this exhaustive gauntlet of trials & testing to Carbon Energy by the Gov of QLD that they could proceed with their UCG process once all environmental & safety requirements were met....then they won't have a leg to stand on will they ? With the wisdom of hindsight.......why didn't management insist on building these clauses into the agreement as a safeguard they as a company. they wouldn't be left 'high & dry' as we are now ? Why wasn't a 'money back clause' or a progressive payment or subsidy clause introduced ? Yes we were seeking to prove the science but the QLD gov were also seeking to guarantee a gas & electricity supply to the state. The VIC Gov were stupid enough to sign a legal contract re the East -West tunnel...costing the taxpayers a lazy billion. Why weren't the QLD gov as stupid ? It's just not fair !!!!!!
