My personal overlay, dealing with David Harley, was that he was not a "deal maker" and incredibly short to deal with. He might have been a great Geo but in my opinion, he wanted to retain an unrealistic proportion of the project, when as you say, the sands market was collapsing. I still feel that something could have been had he given up a more realistic slice of the pie. Fast forward a few years and we are in a much stronger position so in hindsight it all worked out.
