Yeah, big price, particularly as Clearview had been a known seller of non-core assets.
I'll need to take a deeper look at Centrepoint I think. I've come over to this chat as a Clearview holder, who is happy Clearview sold out as they need to focus on their own business rather than build stakes elsewhere.
It was a ~20% stake, so perhaps that justified the premium, or perhaps the underlying Centrepoint business is doing better than I thought. Alternatively, there may have been a competitive bid process and others showing interest. Maybe a mix of all 3.
That Financial Advice Matters practice in Queensland is a good business. Back when I was in Funds Management I'd present to them occasionally, and they came across as really knowing their stuff. It was always refreshing to talk to consultants who genuinely understood what products their Clients were investing in. Most of them are so busy they have to skim through a lot. Too much compliance to get back to ;-)
