I sold soon after the announcement and took a very small hit (no hit after factoring in the dividend). In my experience, until there is clarity, this puts a cloud over stocks and I suspect COH will drift a lot lower on this.
My understanding is that jury verdicts in the US are often ridiculously high, and after cases drag on there is usually a settlement for much less.
I am surprised that this seems to have come out of nowhere - why didn't COH announce that the case was in court (I suppose that may have been known from their past announcements, but I would have expected updates on the case) - so I am annoyed withe the company in that respect.
