ASCO is a not for profit organisation with a clear mission, established in 1964, to support clinical cancer research. In 2023 US Congress provided the organisation with $1.5 billion in funding. Alongside ASCO's reputable endorsement of proven cancer treatment research, they also offer grants and awards programs.

@ShmoShady are you suggesting that it's a waste of time and of no merit for Rhythm to have been selected from thousands of applicants to present their research at the ASCO Annual Meeting?

According to various online references, the Annual Meeting is considered the premiere international forum for the presentation of scientific research and clinical trial results with 40,000 CANCER professionals attending!!
Note, there are around 600 practicing oncology specialist doctors in Australia, whilst in the US there are 13,000 (21 times as many). I'd say it's a BIG gig.

Surely Rhythm's announcement of their successful application to present with ASCO does not indicate a lack of other worthwhile activity to raise awareness and build connections.
