Who reads announcements ? Serious answer, a few current shareholders and a few analyst.
What COI needs is new shareholders, especially HNW and small funds etc, that are hunting for "value" thats believable. The competition for "eyes" is enormous and other than the MD doing something that gets national headlines, what else are they to do ?
How many attend conferences and who are these people ?
How many people even read the presentations - other than the die hard, loyal SH's (who may be enthusiastic or bombastic, embittered HC small shareholder types) or a few analysts .... how many SH's read the presentations. let alone non shareholders ?
With the market at all time highs, many speculators in small caps are currently taking a bath - lithium, nickel, graphite stocks etc, while "conservative" investors who have been accumulating CBA etc for 10, 20, 30 yrs, are very cocksure the good times will never stop for them.
For CBA type investors, "time in the market" is key, for small cap investors, timing in the market is key - if you don't "buy low and sell high" in a reasonable time frame,. then its easy to get stuck waiting for a stock to come good - like those HC bloggers who say they been in COI for 20yrs ... phew !!
Although there's a looming gas shortage on the East Coast and Eastern Australian gas producers should be making a fortune, BUT, this isn't a "free market" - there's lots of political interference and 'arm chair socialist's' who believe all domestic gas belongs to "the people" and should be made available to "them" at the lowest imaginable price (something like production costs +10%).
COI remains (at best) a 'speculative BUY' until such time its becomes an independent producer or part of a much larger group. The former will take much longer than the latter IMHO and hence it's my preferred outcome.
