655 grams = 21 troy oz. However DODH223 claimed 655g PER TONNE of Gold equivalent over 1 metre.
I don't know the diameter of the cores, but looking at the picture on page 3, each one of those 7 cores is roughly 1 metre. As you can see they are quite skinny, roughly 6cm across using acrobat's measuring tool.
so the volume of a one metre core is about 1m*0.06m^2*pi/4 = 0.0028m^3, or 2,800 cubic centimetres. A really dense rock is apparently around 3.5g/cm3 (http://geology.about.com/cs/rock_types/a/aarockspecgrav.htm), so that would be roughly 10,000 grams, or 10kg of rock (or a small dog's worth of rock).
At 655g/tonne, that would contain 6.55g of gold equivalent, or about a fifth of a troy oz. So about AUD350 worth of gold 'equivalent'.
Given a 10 hour day and 250 days worked per year, I believe Wayne earns that in about an hour.
