ex-Yank, you have hit the nail on the head, though if one reads the company ann of the 12th Aug - there it will show GFA wanted to increase their share of "both" the regional tenements "and" Silver Hill. Which means Silver Hill is not the only target
Naturally a larger holding on GFA's part leads to a lesser amount of funding in the case of a full takeover. Yes the NPV basis for valuation may be of a much higher value, given time and a proving up of the resource base, but it will only be of benefit to the remaining shareholders - of which there would be a reduced number, percentage wise, if GFA were allowed to have their way.
In short, they have been trying to gain a bigger share of Mt Carlton via the back door.
