A very interesting idea @kpax. Can you tell us what we should be looking for here?
Is there any particular measure included in the trial design that will tell us about this clearance factor? Or is it just assumed that an improvement on functional rating scale scores means that misfolded proteins are being cleared from the brain?
I'd also be interested in your thoughts about the confluence of endoplasmic reticulum stress as a contributing factor in the development of ALS/MND/neurodegenerative diseases (vis https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7260270/, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9974850/, https://www.mdpi.com/1422-0067/21/17/6127), the recent ONJCRI study that implies MPL's anti-cancer method of action is via the induction of endoplasmic reticulum stress, and the protective/disease modifying effect MPL is supposed to induce via the upregulation of autophagic processes through mTOR retardation.
