Just to explain a little further why so important:
-there can often be a huge difference between what can be assayed and what can be extracted by economic means - sometimes only 60%,with values 80-90% being regarded as excellent.

With a bioassay, what is assayed is likely to be close to what can be commercially extracted as it is a matter of scale rather than a change of process- e,g. fire assay with a cu collector vs CIP plant

This is not to say that there won't be difficulties along the way which why the pilot plant step is so important to optimize the process.
