I will give you a negative view, that you are looking for.
Darling range bauxite is NOT a superior quality as you stated. It is very low in alumina content compared to other world bauxites. In Austalia Weipa and Gove bauxites that are shipped typically run at around 54-56% alumina. In Weipa some of the deposit go as high as 75%-80% alumina.

The value of Darling range bauxite is that it is cheap and easy to mine and low in reactive silica.

Ask yourself why Alcoa do not ship any bauxite from WA. All the bauxite is for their own alumina production.

Sea freight costs are also a deterant to shipping low alumina content bauxite.
