It is no wonder KJ changed auditors during that breach of covenant fracas and there was I thinking shame on him for wanting a new auditor who would be less critical and damaging.

I would think it a fair assumption that they are not the ones funding the litigation.

Otherwise PwC would just drag through paperwork until they ran out of money. PNC is not exactly flush with cash.
