I agree Gyro and the tech world does change at a break neck speed , particularly telecommunications. Also agree that you have to be fully adaptable but it does depend on the size of your design team personnel and as you said adapting your developing technology to adjust with the global shifts.
The issue here with speccas is your debt exposure. Did you break the golden rule of investing and didn't balance your diversification? If that is the case then of course, you are going to be particularly disappointed with your holdings if you bought in & still holding in the 0.1 to 0.16 range, and didn't engage any stop losses. So I agree, you do have to be awake my friend to watch that, of which I am.
Speccas are notoriously volatile and many people get caught buying in large to get good sized parcels and there is where you can get caught, if there is a hitch/failure or change in sector sentiment.
I feel for those guys too Gyro but that is when you must decide to either keep averaging down or sell out a few parcels at losses and recoup in other stocks. Everything is fluid and moves fast in stock trading. You know that.
For a base I look at the history of achievements and the depth of quality in any new releases. We all learn hard lessons playing the market. I have. Every specca has its rollercoaster story.
We cant dwell in the past; but must use it to our advantage. (Respecting all those who are still carrying losses)
