I agree
@eason2946.
When I first started on these forums, I welcomed opposing views initially because balance seemed good.
(I still do, if they're fair and based on evidence and facts).
But the longer I've spent here the more puzzled and shocked I've become by the sheer energy, time, research and effort people put into speaking negatively about stocks they don't own.
It's truly bewildering.
I've previously used the example that I have a very dim view of Westpac as both a current investment and as a socially responsible organisation. But I have zero interest in joining their thread to speak about it negatively or generally take any pleasure from pointing out to holders that their investment is down 20%. It seems pointless, irrelevant to me, and quite cruel on a human level.
Occasionally there are some useful, evidence-based negative comments from holders and non-holders. These provide useful balance and discussion points, but are rare.
It does support the theory that these do posters do indeed have an interest, just an undisclosed one. Either that, or I truly worry about lives of the people who derive anything from dedicating part of their day to such a meaningless and time-wasting task.
It's a shame, trawling through all the nonsense has already made me read threads less and less.
