Hi goldenchook,
while reading through your post, a recent movie I watched on Netflix came to mind - Pain Hustlers. In this movie the "fight" for patients and descriptions is vividly portrayed. If this woman is truly heavily invested in the gene therapy development, then it is arguably save to say she has monetary interests to get every potential patient into their development program.
Good movie by the way to understand the competitiveness & state of the US healthcare system.
