I worked for retail brokers for many years in a past life. You should know that all the bank prop traders and funds used to deal with retail too. Often to hide their activity because you could see it live back then as opposed to delayed by days now. They kept executing through these brokers after though.
So the picture - including the CFD info below - is not as clear as it might seem. Also, AIEX is from memory Aussiex. They have many financial planners and independent brokers with retail clienta, similar to Bell Potter, Morgan's and Euroz advisers mentioned previously.
