If any post on here ever deserved a click on the like button it’s this one ktscratch thanks for sharing. Great to see an analyst taking an interest in the company endeavours.
The companies mentioned BMW and Mercedes Benz have been shown previously by ADO in announcements, so no real surprises there (European marquee brands you don’t get much more Euro or Marquee then these two). It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to believe many others they have shown, are also interested in how the tech may assist their own anodes going forward.
Agree with the sentiment of the author many of the fledgling battery companies making big claims on the ASX, NASDAQ or in EU and Canada for that matter, are pursuing the same model of digging up or sourcing/trying to source feedstock of some pretty rare, likely soon to be outdated or difficult to manufacture materials, are trying or raising/burning capital in the pursuit to build anode / cathode or full cell capability.
There are plenty of examples of some massively capital intensive operations in the very early phase of design/construct that are making pretty major claims without a lot of consideration to the actual market needs going forward.
Many are talking about but yet to prove with verifiable data large claims of better density and/or cost savings. Some are apparently building anode /cathode or full scale battery plants albeit without the necessary funding/capital available to finish it and already well behind on a lot of progress/milestones that have been promised or in some cases failing to produce a viable/saleable/safe product.
To be perfectly frank most are lacking the very things that could actually make them viable going forward- better energy density, cheaper, lighter, scalable and utilising where possible easily sourced, abundant, sustainable and eventually hopefully recyclable materials.
Compare that with a tech that can be incorporated into multiple existing cell manufacturing processes, offers some major benefits in cost and density and hopefully (soon to be proven) highly scalable.
Bring on the pilot plant and a silicon anode revolution it is nearly time for it’s moment to shine and with any luck this is well placed to take full advantage of a paradigm shift.
GLTA…not there yet but the future looks both exciting and promising.
