I'm also not keen on the idea of CEO on multiple boards, as one concern would be whether they are effectively focusing their time and energy in the interests of shareholders, a constant tug-of-war between the various boards they're on but you have a valid point with less wages and plenty of time on their hands in some cases. Pros and cons to it.
