I heard the same, but as I understand it, initially it will only be for emergency calls (if you are out of cell tower range).

They were suggesting they may extend it to include standard calls in the future as a subscription service, but this would not be cheap (they would need to use something like Iridium which is expensive). It might appeal to mining companies and people who regularly travel out of mobile tower range. It would mean they could use their iPhone rather than having to buy a satellite phone.

Personal, I think the next big challenge to what FRX is doing are the satellite networks that the likes of Elon Mask is proposing. Huge number of smaller satellites that would basically form a global telecommunication network. But that would be a while away, and FRX would have a heap of time to reposition itself (if it had to) by then.

I am sure others will have a different view, but this is all IMO, and DYOR.
