Anteo have stated on numerous occasions they are using cheap unrefined silicon to get the results they are obtaining with Anteo X binder additive..





They have today given some examples of costs per KWh for the various methods to utilise silicon in the anode.

Silicon in a carbon shell such as Silanano are using

Silicon structured in graphite like Talga and others are doing

Silicon nanowires like Enovix and Amprius are utilising.

All of the above are getting great labscale and small commercial scale results BUT at what cost….

Then Tesla with raw basic silicon which is cheap, abundant and much easier to integrate at scale…. It does however have a major issue with expansion, that needs to be overcome with use of advanced binders and polymer coatings.




Then I remembered this slide at battery day a few years back and it really piqued my interest at the time….after todays presentation from Anteo and knowing what Anteo X is all about…let’s just say my interest is now very much engaged…





The new Anteo X promo video also shows the integration into existing manufacturing processes along
with how the binder creates a 3D network to stop cracking and destruction of the silicon on cycling. Looks a lot like what Tesla are trying to do…
