Yes, you’ll get the dividend if you sell after it goes ex div. Be careful, however: if last year is any guide, there’s likely to be a big dump on the day it goes ex div — quite possibly by more than the nominal value of the dividend. And recovery from that point may take some months, as was the case last year. Depending on how important the franking credits are to you, you might want to consider selling while it’s still cum dividend. That way you can bank a certain gain.
