I can't necessarily make the connection (as the vast majority of mines in the Hunter Valley should be unaffected) but one source (unavailable to the general public) has suggested the derailment will take 'weeks' to fix.
I assume that a very substantial length of track has been damaged. Coal trains in the Hunter Valley often have 90 wagons.
There are apparently photos on Facebook but I've not tracked them down (apologies for the bad pun).
