Hey Bayd76, you are right to question that comment. PetesGold is right that you will get a 4.4c dividend in a couple of weeks but of course it will go ex-dividend on Friday and the SP is likely to drop an equivalent amount.
What PetesGold is probably alluding to is that over time the SP will likely recover to its former value, and in three months time the cycle will repeat itself, as DDR pays quarterly dividends.
However this is not guaranteed and is the same as buying shares in any company just before it pays a dividend,
