I didn't see anything in that announcement to feel particularly enthusiastic about. If the technology was truly stunning in some way it wouldn't be sitting about largely cashless being developed at a snails pace. With that in mind, any backer who takes an interest is better than none, even if we end up with a smaller share of any positive result. Purdue testing should have elicited some interest from potential US backers just on submission. It didn't, so Chinese investment is welcome by me, especially when the alternative is considered. It's not dead, but they better get a rattle on before a new industry standard is established without us being there.
