Thats another sad reality of the speculative end of the market. Whilst ones valuation, prediction or research might be spot on... if the company isn't self sustaining (whomever they are) and enough punters dont agree with you - unless you can afford to tip in the capital or buy out all the shares, it can end just as badly.
Deep value plays are perhaps a bit different where one spots a pricing mismatch and waits for the market to catch up. If that takes months or years, the tactic can work OK - again though the company needs to be around that long or have sufficient cash to survive for it to play out.
