Hi Charlie'sbucket.
Cameroon has a lot or did have a lot of off-shore oil. Cameroon also has a lot of off-shore Gas, in fact very close to shore and the New Gas Terminal is next door to where SDL's was to build the iron ore jetty, Iron ore stock yard and iron ore rail off-loading area.
There were plans years ago for SDL to build an Itabirite Pellet and Concentrate plant in the same area at a cost at the time of around $200 million. I first knew about the Pellet and Concentrate plant when told by Don Lewis in a meeting I had with him.
The Cameroon Government a few years ago asked SDL to get involved with it and Korean company POSCO in building a steel mill near the Port as well.
