Seeing as the thread is active again, its good time re-share some JCT info.

JJCT Healthcare, a ‘Technology partner with Minda’ has embarked on the development of the next generationnn
‘Smart monitoring systems’ for the disability and homecare markets. The new system, to be known as
Smart Support, will allow residents to communicate with Support workers, Family and Friends through a specifically
designed APP. The APP, when used with JCT smart hub technology, will also allow the resident to control
devices such as TV, air-conditioning, rollershutters, front door, etcetera, through its Home Automation Module.
Support workers will be able to provide support anywhere in the community through their APP, which will allow them
to respond to any issues raised through the resident’s Smart hub technology.
“This next generation technology will provide residents with the ability to be more independent while still being
passively monitored,” JCT Healthcare Managing Director Eddie Jackson says.
“The new technology will learn the normal movements of the resident and notify support workers, family and friends
if something abnormal happens.” The new system will be launched on the market in time for the NDIS roll out in early 2017.

How will the NDIS be rolled out in South Australia?

The NDIS is being introduced in stages, because it’s a big change and it is important to get it right and make it sustainable. Existing service users and new participants will enter the scheme progressively. The NDIS is expected to cover all of South Australia and all age groups by July 2018, ultimately providing support to about 32,000 people with disability.
From 1 February 2016, children aged between 0 to 14 years of age across South Australia will continue to enter the NDIS.
From 1 January 2017, young people aged between 15 and 17 years of age across South Australia will begin to enter the NDIS.
From 1 July 2017, adults aged 18 to 64 years of age will begin to enter the NDIS based on where they live.
When the NDIS commences in a region, people currently receiving supports through South Australian Government specialist disability services will be moving first.
