Hope so mate. At 2 ktpa I would think they have the scope for multi-run ops, not so sure at 10 ktpa though.
Regarding your example, I've seen similar quotes previously, specifically regarding AKE (then ORE). There seems to be a perception that ORE customers requested tech grade, when it was the other way around. ORE was only capably of reaching a portion of battery grade (I think the highest was around 60%), so they marketed the tech grade and found customers for it. If they were capable of producing 100% battery grade, they'd be doing just that and selling the higher value product.
Same goes for the other majors. If there is a huge customer base and demand is as strong as we all expect, and the majors are in fact capable of producing 100% BG, why would they choose to produce a lower value product?
