I am not a scientist however apart from Travelan I have said previously that I believe C.Dif will be the big thing well before NASH because it will actually work as a cure and replace antibiotics.

By the way I should have mentioned that in the first instance it is often the case that the patient is being treated with antibiotics for some other condition which even though the antibiotics cure that infection they then predispose the patient to contract their first round of C.Dif infection.

As the current announcement points out IMMN-529 is not an antibiotic and so is aimed squarely at breaking the cycle of C.Dif infection.

Hence by changing the strategic focus to those patients with recurrent C.Dif and expanding the area from which trial participants can be recruited the company should stand a much better chance of convincing the patient, the treating Doctor and/or the relatives to enrol in the trial because they have already experienced how antibiotics can fail to provide a complete answer to the recurring C.Dif infection.

I have long suspected (my opinion only) that the difficulty with recruiting for C.Dif has been the fact that faced with the choice between the current standard of care ie antibiotics (which do work) and enrolling in a trial of a new drug ie IMM-529 relatives on advice from the patients medical practitioner are sensibly electing to take antibiotics.

Anyway this is my take and you should do your own research.

I think you hit the nail right on the head here, FactFinder. That's why I thought the shift in focus to targeting recurrent c. difficile infections exclusively was a smart choice.

Also, I think getting trial sites opened in the USA and Australia is a must....enrollment in Israel has been far too slow for awhile. And no one can blame Gary Jacob for this....he wasn't here....and now that he is....he is making a change. I'm glad that he is. Otherwise the c.diff. trial would stall out further.

Gary is also doing a far better job promoting Travelan in the United States, though we are in the very early stages. I know that stock price looks lousy, but I still don't think the fundamentals of why I invested heavily in this company have been jeopardized in any way at all.
