CEO selection is very dependent on the point where the business sits in its life cycle. Also, every company and every CEO has different styles of management. e.g. Grant King from Origin is a very micro heavy CEO, h e likes to get involved individually on a lot of projects where a CEO really shouldn't; contrast that with say someone like Ian Narev at CBA who's very much a high level strategy guy.
my point is, there is very little point to to scrutinise Lekkas appointment because he has been with the company for a while so JS and CW knows what he brings to the table, secondly the role of CEO in XPE imo is less important than Head of Asia and Head of Tech. think of him as Head of Corporate guy if you like.
