I don't think anyone even themselves or Nkwe believe that AMED have enough cash for full project funding -they can provide immediate short term cash, sort out beng, have real world platinum experience, and have facilitated IDC involvement in the past: what they provide is a strategic alliance that can bring in more stability and scale for a major player to come in as a JV partner. Theoretically with DRA and IDC and AMED the project could obtain funding through a combination of equity, loan and contractual agreement to DRA--- but it is likely that a major will step in after the Beng cloud over Garatau is cleared and after the Anglo threat of legal action is reduced to a scare crow after the November 8 AgriSA verdict ( why am I so confident of the verdict? Because otherwise the SA govt. will go bust repaying compensation to more than 2000 parties aggrieved by the MPRDA)
