I think I recall Louis saying the only conceivable reason for expanding to 1024 devices could possibly be for a large server farm.
Anyway - Is reducing the scalabitly by a factor of 16 a real issue? Probably not - unless they had a potential customer wanting that scale of chip expansion - and they probably don't.
Be interested to hear Louis' response nevertheless.
