why did Western Digital want new wafers done that are NOT on the MB platform???
Doe that mean that IMEC has gone back to the drawing board? And again produced NON MB wafers?

They have gone back a few steps and back off the MB platform.
I think the MB chips were no good, or wrong recipe, and now they are going back to the previous stage to try another chip to integrate into IMEC MB platform
Why wouldn't they wait for full results of analysis of this 1st MB chip? They are obviously not happy with first iteration of MB chip.
That is how it reads to me and is not good news.
It smacks of delays and problems with the chip transferring to MB level
