It really depends on how many other parties are interested. Vertical integration (controlling/owning every step of the manufacturing and distribution process) is going to be huge in post COVID environment. Apple has already been progressing this to some extent with their iMac products.
If JD can press the flesh (socially distanced) that's where his value becomes apparent.
