As a 43 year old economist I doubt the commissioner has ever stepped foot in place where they make things?
The model she seems to be using is globalisation where each country does what it can do the best... So cheap labour is an example. Or high tech another or an abundance of natural resources another. You all know what I mean. The promise was also to stop wars by making countries interdependent.
Perhaps the whole c19 thing and supply chain issues. Or wars in Europe the middle east or the china issues (there are so many) are not important any more?
So stuff making things like cars! Tony said, dig boys dig and buy another house.
If these are our leaders... we are Geffed!

But they are not all there is. The smart innovative people will come through for us. If not maybe AI will save us. Or the banks, no, just kidding.
