Sorry, my misunderstanding. Where does it say that 4DS have actually gone to a 5nm process Khoutam? I didnt see that.
I saw a lot of mention of the limitations of DRAM going under 10nm but saw no sign that 4DS were actually on a sub-10nm process for the next lot or indeed has scheduled such. A pointer would be good.

What correlation is there between scale and the time to manufacture in this case? Are you saying they are doing a 5nm shrink in this next round?

Talking about that scale, testing that you potentially can do it and actually going there are three very different things.

Given the issues that have been had getting working chips off the bench now, understanding they think they've solved the problem, and the considerations you have to do in terms of cross-later effects when you scale down, this would be a dramatic drop and not normal practice, which is to take it down in stages. Most scale drop iterations in the industry take some 10 to 12 months each.
