While not the only way to contact Hampers with Bite, Alexa monitoring suggests that the HwB website has had a consistent uptick in visitation since the start of June until 30 August 2021 (the graph is always a couple of days behind).

This is positive, but doesn't tell us how often a visit converts into a sale.

HwB is reputedly the number two provider of hampers in Oz.

My research is defective as I couldn't find a hamper provider with a higher website ranking than HwB, but perhaps the number one does much business through an app or a call centre, or direct with companies.

As far as they go subject to my concerns about a recession - don't believe the 'resilient' GDP figures out today - HwB seems to be popular in its subsector. This is encouraging given we must decide about subscribing for the SPP.

The HwB website is ranked #2506 in Australia and #162285 worldwide. This is quite a high ranking for a retailer offering discretionary goods. 87.5 per cent of browsers are from Australia.

Edible Blooms is at #4384 and #194021 with a smaller percentage, 81.2pc, being visits from Oz to its site.

Another competitor The Hamper Emporium is respectively #5008 and #217828 but only 76.1 per cent of site visits emanate from Oz.

Gourmet Basket is higher than THE, at respectively #2967 and #182535, with 87.5 per cent of website visitation from Australia, the latter the same as PTL purchase HwB.

Dessert Boxes is ranked respectively at #7065 and #271503, but only 70.7 per cent of visitors appear to be Australian.

The Gourmet Pantry, a Victorian business, is at #10651 and #564600 with 89.8 per cent of visitors located in Oz.

Bockers and Pony (the name must mean something but as a dull Victorian that escapes me) is at, respectively, #13673 and #642562, with 100 per cent of visits from Australian-domiciled devices.

First Class Hampers has rankings of #13830 and #779526. Allegedly, 100 per cent of website views have been from Australian browsers.

Macarthur Baskets - named after one of the early pioneers, a famous figure re the wool industry - doesn't have an Australian # ranking from Alexa but worldwide it's way back at 1703732.

Lily Rose Indulgence is even further back in the field at #4359533 worldwide in the rankings.

The Food Purveyor lacked an Alexa # ranking.
