I think you'll find they are not using citric acid, and it's not the acid strength that is the issue it's the pulp density required for dissolution. Generally the pulp density is so low you need tanks with the capacity of Sydney Harbor. Then there's the need to settle all the suspended clay in massive thickners the size of the MCG. The challenges of dealing with clays should not be glossed over.
