Environmental liabilities at BS are present but small in the terms of things (rehab waste dumps and tailings dam plus general site at closure). LJ has some challenges with a few issues associated with the tails dam (some spills and a few leaks over time) as well as some major questions as to what to do with the sink hole at Maggi Hays. They are also close to a salt lake system that is now attracting attention due to the presence of some species of minute shrimp (has for a while) and the potential impact of tailings (and metals) on these.
As far as Windarra goes, it is an issue of dewatering the old workings, developing ore and setting the mine up for sustainable production. The last time I was up that way, they were carting ore from Leinster to treat at Windarra (a long time ago) but the roads still should be there and cartage to Leinster for treating should not be an issue. It is really an issue of ensuring they produce enough ore to meet the requirements of the tolling/off-take agreement.
I still am unsure of where POS will find ore to treat at LJ and BS - enough to keep the plants running efficiently.
