Sorry, but I have to say that that announcement is about as hard hitting as a soggy lettuce leaf. Who wrote it? Whoever did should never write another one. Or if they insist then at least hire a wordsmith or advertising guy to put some pizazz into the message.
The lead narrative SHOULD BE that the company has identified "6 therapeutic leads with compelling disease-relevant activity!!!" for further study. Who gives a flying feck how long the work took or whether it was on time and budget or how many data point. (Well, actually all those things do matter but they are more about process than outcomes. And what investors really want to hear about is outcomes, as mild and as interim as they are in this case).
The management of this company needs to take a lead from Paul Keating and understand that from time to time they really do need to throw the switch to vaudeville.
