I believe that the leaders of this biz honestly thought they could make something big happen, but to date have failed to deliver.
This is the nature of economic pursuit and unless there is evidence to the contrary, they tried and they failed (to date).
No malice here, just a failure to deliver an economic profit to the proprietors.
