I must have misunderstood your initial post.

But FYI you are completely incorrect in saying a JV would mean both parties are self-funded.

Joint ventures come in all forms, and in SPQ's case, it would entail them providing the project at it's current stage (or whatever stage it may be at) and the 2nd party providing the funds and expertise to develop it, which SPQ need both dearly.

IMO a JV with a company who can provide funding/expertise is the only way forward without further decimating shareholders.

Your suggestion may work in a world where we have a competent management team, however this isn't the case.

Anyhow, it's here nor there. They haven't shown any signs of interested parties (or actively talking to anyone), in fact the opposite with the botched placement. So we have more pressing matters to be concerned with, like keeping the lights on for another 12 months, amongst other things - like the BT drilling - do they have the funds to complete the CEI campaign? Who knows what their bank balance looks like before the middle of May next year.
