I dropped in on this thread to see how you were travelling and spotted a geology question. The reason the centre of an anomaly is not always targeted is because drilling to one side often generates more useful data. Often holes are drilled at an angle for the same reason. These holes are very deep so I expect they are going straight down. In addition, the granite basement may have generated secondary targets. Diamond drill holes, especially deep ones like this are very expensive so they are sited with meticulous detail. (at least they should be!)
