@jefferies2 - My idle musings on what is going on over on the 'other' thread: - the stock market is a ready source of cash for up- and coming companies and that what it was created for - and great!!: this is the 'soul of capitalism', its purpose, its motor is money and risk-taking!
I am not au fait with all the ways people can buy stock, in order to fulfill that legitimate purpose. However: Mining is such an insecure long-term 'business' with the 'golden' opportunity of untold riches lure - realised in some cases - dangling in the as yet to be explored and inscrutable 'future' - that it attracts the gambler-type personality in both the business creators as well as the 'investors'. Along with all the smorgasbord of legal accounting and trading tools available to management as well as share traders (shorting stocks, fund raisers, multiple directorships along with the salaries and options bounty) there is the fact that a good living can be made from a company which just lingers . . . and lingers. When you then have a few dedicated posters on 'your stock' which keeps the lure alive with erudite posts and always beating their own drum of their wisdom and experience and their being at arms' length from management, whilst also quoting first names of contacts in 'the company' - you will attract more 'investors' - and maybe if you, as an 'investors' are quick on the draw, you may get to win the prize, but most likely the 'in' crowd will have had their fill and left the scene before you even become aware. The 'big event' is yet to happen over on that thread. Lets hope some of these people do at least get their money back. Take care all Taurisk
