My thoughts are that any central Pilbara railway would require minimum 100 Mtpa to underpin development (similar to Solomon to Port Hedland railway). If Anketell Point is developed FMG could underpin the necessary 1st stage tonnage (say 60Mtpa) from Solomon to Anketell. Others like FMS would follow. This concept was always in the FMG 3 hub plan which includes exporting ore from Eliwana and Flying Fish located to the west of Solomon. Such a railway would give WFE a chance to export. At the moment the best option may be to deliver ore to FMG Solomon under some arrangement eg BC Iron type agreement, and utilise FMG infrastructure. WFE is only looking at 2-4 Mtpa which is dust to FMG operations but a game changer for WFE. Still need to see the economics of such a grand plan. FMG has always advocated third party access to infrastructure but it's up to companies like WFE to present the proposal including timelines and funding commitments.
