all countries are printing money - including Oz, it's not just the US. However Bernanke stated quite clearly when he left the Fed 'gold is money'. Price of Gold has been controlled for yonks - and is valued too low IMO. For quite a few reasons going forward it's possible Gold will appreciate a lot, digital currency has little or no bearing on the pog - it isn't Bitcoin that's been keeping the pog checked
