Instead of paying a top levy of upto 15% on all coal sold, frolm 1 july 2022 they will now pay up to a maximum of 40% for coal sales over $300/tonne.
Means less profits to re-invest in the business for expansion etc and less profit to distribute to shareholders. More income for the state government to hire more nurses, teachers, police etc. (see: Mineral royalty rates | Business Queensland)
