The EU, UK, & other democratic countries, have, following Russia's brutal invasion, already placed major bans on Russian coal & oil imports- & have introduced policies/alternative suppliers to phase out Russian gas. They now fear that Russia will STOP its gas exports in c. TEN days.
It's very important that fossil fuel exporters, from democratic countries etc., are available to assist other democratic countries to obtain their crucial "energy security" needs.
