A reasonable post. Nick puts an extraordinary amount of time into answering questions from retail shareholders because he likes to stay in touch with the grassroots. But I agree it might be out of proportion on occasions.

On the other hand he often chooses to make contact himself. The bulk of contact pinto and I have is initiated by him.

I do agree that Nick needs to feel supported and like most successful people he is smart, competitive and driven. But behind that is a distaste for getting it wrong. That means there is a delicate balancing act. He doesn't always get the communication side right and I think the rework on a recent announcement showed that contact from GI was justified. On at least one case we also contacted him directly so we could factually answer a certain troll.

I don't think you can expect to control whether Hotcopper people do or don't contact him or the reverse. But I do think we could all be conscious of how busy he is and try to ensure communication is productive and useful rather than seeking endless updates
